Gold Standard Chorus

Pictures from our latest contest in Winston-Salem, 2009, featuring our new "Chicken Package".  Colonel Sanders (Chris) directs the chorus in "Don't Ever Make Fun of An Egg" and "Auntie Skinner's Chicken Dinner" as our youngest chickens (the Peeps? - Benjamin and John[I think]) and Ben (the duck [David]) Aflac look on.  One of our chickens (Jan) lays an egg on stage and Ben gets chased off-stage by the Colonel and his hatchet.  Lots of fun and enjoyed by everyone, even all our judges!!  Wish they had enjoyed it more so the score sheets would have been better - but there's always next time!

Click to enlarge pics.      These are not all the pics taken, but the best that could be gleaned... Enjoy.

The colonel walks on.    Ben and the Peeps side of the stage.
And the rest of the hen house.            Now you can see part of Ben's big feet!  Almost didn't make it up the stage stairs!!!
The signs are up- just waiting for the sun sign (or is that sun shine?)            Jan laid an egg!!
Ben AFLAC getting "hatchet attacked"           Nope - the egg didn't hatch yet.
Ok - After the contest stage, we go to the Picture Room where the professional shoots us....  Uh. these are NOT his pictures!      Close-up of Ben and the Peeps.
Posing for the camera....            And again.
And a week before the contest we were at rehearsal at Aldersgate in Charlotte...   OH! Some poor chicken is about to lose his head over this contest!
Ted and the Colonel - discussing strategy?          The egg's ready and the chopping block, so let's get this rehearsal on the road!!
The Tenors discuss how good they look.  Now does the Lead agree??   Does Dave think this is an improvement??
And now we're "praying for production"... (oh - nice long johns, David!)   Jan has the rest of us in costume, so what about him?   Maybe he knows something we don't!!!
The pic is a bit fuzzy, but we still look good..!    Whew!  The signs can actually be read from a distance..
Look - it's a Chicken Dance! (with an almost naked Duck)  Ok, you probably wanted to see the make-up room just prior to contest, right?  Well, these are at the bottom as they're probably more appropriately titled the "silly pictures"...
Uh, Dave, you probably should 'mute' that thing before going on stage, huh??   He sings, dances, plays the piano and "mouth trumpet" and can even be a Chicken if asked..!
Jan said he wanted "facial involvement" so this is it!    Come on, Buddy!! Cheer up, it'll be over soon enough!
Now THAT's the way to wear make-up!  Or is that "Mark-up"...  Wally and one of the Baldree "Peeps" - Hmmm - maybe asking "Did I really come from one of those??"
Get the Colonel... Get the Colonel...  Uh oh - looks like Chicken Altercation coming up...
"If them dang chickens drop that pitch just one more time!!!"   Chuck:  "I can FLY.. I can FLY"  (yeah, right, Chuck)
Wow - check out them noses - it must be Evolution in process!!!   Ummm... have we stumbled onto the set of "Night of the Living Dead"????
Now THIS is a picture you can show the rest of the kids in your school !!!  That's it.... We had an absolute BALL!!  And the comments from everyone were terriffic!
